    May 29th (10:00 am): VOTING BEGINS

    May 30th (10:00 am): VOTING ENDS

    May 30th (12:00 pm): DEADLINE TO SUBMIT COMPLAINTS

Roles and Descriptions

    • Demonstrate exceptional leadership, responsibility, time management, and multitasking skills.

    • Oversee all society operations, including emails, events, initiatives and meetings.

    • Attend + Chair monthly committee meetings (Mandatory)

    • Meet monthly with CLS staff (e.g. Moot Coordinators) to report society progress and communicate feedback with Head of Communication/Outreach.

    • Attend all society events, especially all academic and professional events.

      In lieu of an absence, ensure there is a substitute to fulfil your responsibilities (Ideally, vice-president).

    • Monitor and support the progress of fellow committee members.

    • Help resolve any shortcomings within the CLSBMS team.

    • Foster a positive team environment by showing appreciation and giving constructive feedback.

    • Have detailed goals of what you expect to achieve as president next term [if successful] when submitting your applications.

    • Ensure all committee members are trained/equipped with the skills required for their role.

    • Be receptive to feedback.

    • Coordinate handover processes and contribute to succession planning for the next committee.

    • Illustrate exceptional leadership, time management skills and organisation skills

    • Oversee society operations in absence of the president

    • Assist in conflict resolution and foster a collaborative team environment.

    • Attend monthly committee meetings (Mandatory)

    • Attend + Chair monthly programme representative meetings with Communications

    • Be the primary point of contact after the president

    • Attend all society events, especially all social events.

    • Actively seek opportunities in the legal field for our members with Outreach.

    • Support progress of fellow committee member’s work

    • Support the Marketing Officer in keeping information on our website updated.

    • Host all ‘Volunteer Information Sessions’ with Head of Events

    • Monitor all forms of society correspondence (I.e. Emails, Instagram and Linkedin Messages)

    • Attend both internal and external networking events

    • Actively seek opportunities in the legal field for our members

    • Meet with CLS Staff on a monthly basis to report the society’s progress and relay any feedback/concerns with the President.

    • Attend + Chair monthly programme representative meetings with the Vice-President.

    • Strengthen our existing connections in the fields of law, education and others (i.e: Tech)

    • Establish new connections in the fields of law, education and others (i.e: Tech)

    • Attend monthly committee meetings (Mandatory)

    • Illustrate exceptional budgeting, communication and organisation skills

    • Submit receipts to the Student Union (SU) for reimbursements in a timely manner

    • Attend monthly committee meetings

    • Have a strong understanding of resource allocation, and understand how to implement a strategic approach to ensure the society’s resources maximize profits.

    • Keep track of all financial transactions (e.g. invoices)

    • Work closely with the rest of the team to ensure transparency both internally and externally (With

    • The City Law School, other universities/student societies, sponsors, etc.)

    • Have strong organisation, teamwork, multitasting and event management skills 

    • Regularly update the events calendar

    • Submit Events Forms (Student Union) for each event

      • Ensure the Timeline is followed and Deadlines are met

    • Be the primary point of contact with regards to event queries

    • Be on-site for all events (academic, professional and social)

    • Work closely with the Marketing Officer to ensure all events are adequately marketed.

    • Lead work for major social events:

      • Meet and Greet

      • Society Fairs

      • Networking Opportunities

    • Attend monthly committee meetings (Mandatory)

    • Work closely with Head of Finance on budgeting and resource allocation

    • Attend monthly committee meetings (Mandatory)

    • Projects:

      • The Guide and Grow Moot Mentorship Programme + Competition

      • The CLSBMS Moot Workshops

      • City Scholar’s Moot Competition

      • The City GDL Moot Competition

      • The Four Institute Moot Competition

    • Be on-site for all events (especially academic and professional)

    • Attend guests (students, speakers, workshops leaders, moot judges, etc.)

    • Work closely with Communication/Outreach on expanding advocacy opportunities for our students using external sources/connections.

    • Ensure scores+feedback for internal moot competitions is regularly shared with competitors

    • Ensure students are equipped with the skills and experience required to step into the world of advocacy outside the university.

    • Work closely with the rest of the team to ensure our value of exposure and practice in the legal field are met.

    • Illustrate excellent creativity, time management, teamwork and communication.

    • Have a strong grasp of graphic designing tools (i.e. Canva)

    • Attend monthly committee meetings

    • Promote events, meetings and initiatives on different platforms (i.e. Instagram, Linkedin, Tiktok)

    • Ensure the content created is engaging and represents the society’s brand and identity

    • Ensure opportunities are marketed to our students as soon as possible, including external opportunities.

    • Design posters and flyers (physical promotional material)

    • Ensure orders for print material are sent by the deadlines

    • Work with the Vice-President on ensuring information is updated on the CLSBMS website

    • Track student engagement, work strategically with the President and Outreach team on how to improve it.

    • Be on-site for all events (In lieu of an absence, ensure there is a substitute to fulfill your responsibilities)

    • Documenting events (live coverage via Instagram, regular stories, recordings)

    • Liaise with other Universities for collaborations.

    • Prepare Monthly Surveys for our members to complete

    • Attend monthly committee meetings

    • Speak with students at events, ensuring their questions and concerns are answered Collect feedback as often as possible.

    • Work closely with the university’s Student Experience Team when and where required.

    • Ensure the feedback collected is noted by the senior leadership both within the committee and The City Law School in general.

    • Have a good understanding of the society’s administrative processes and layers of work, to ensure you’re equipped to handle student enquiry.
